We never sell your details. Only the tradesperson you appoint ever sees them.
What we collect
Your name, email address and mobile number, and what you tell us about your project: the type of work, its size, the postcode, your budget bracket and when you'd like to start. We also note the advert or website that brought you here and, when you tick a box, your IP address and browser as a record of it. We don't check your identity or your finances at this stage.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
To hold your place on the waitlist, to email and text you when we open, and to save your answers so you can post your project without typing them again. That is taking steps at your request before any contract with you. Marketing emails go out only if you tick the box, and you can stop them at any time.
What happens when we open
We'll send you a one-time link. Nothing is posted until you open it, check your answers and post the project yourself. Until then no tradesperson sees anything you've told us.
Who we share it with
Nobody sees your project until you post it. The companies that run our email, text messages and customer records (Resend, Twilio and HubSpot) handle your details for us and nothing else. If you accept marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel tells Meta that you visited this page and joined, with the type of project, so we can measure our adverts. It never receives your name, contact details, postcode or any other answer. Never sold to a list.
How long we keep it
If you don't use your link, we delete your waitlist entry 90 days after we last sent it, or within a year if we never send one. If you do use it, your details move to your project and our Privacy Notice covers them from there. A copy of your contact details and answers is also kept in our customer records system (HubSpot), and we delete that copy when you ask us to delete your details.
Your rights and how to complain
You can ask us to change or delete your details at any time by emailing hello@comparebuilders.com, and you can complain to the ICO. Full detail is in our Privacy Notice.
